Event : Clubs Got Talent: Successful night

200 people turned up for the annual Clubs Got Talent and Awards Ceremony evening at the new venue of Blackburn Empire Theatre. And what a night it was!!

The evening kicked off with a DVD message from Amir Khan followed by a variety of different achievements ably presented by Sara Ali and Riyaz Desai from Jamea Masjid Youth Club.

The second part of the evening was brilliantly compered by Stacy Saunderson from Tommy's Fleetwood Club for Young People.
Stacy introduced  a range of excellent junior and senior acts representing 8 clubs.

Former Hollyoaks actor Darren Langford, theatre director Paul Mason and former Clubs Got Talent winner Ameb made up the judges panel and were pressed to decide upon a winner.

While they took a break to continue with their deliberations, the final leg of the Urban Rowing Challenge was completed. The challenge was a cumulations of 20 clubs contributing to rowing almost 430km from our Lancaster HQ to the 2012 London Olympics. Yasmine Gwillam and Danny Jowle from Blackpool Boys & Girls Club were cheered on as they completed the final 500 metres of this epic journey. Well done to all!

Just before the final results were announced, AmeB got the crowd rocking with her recently released first single: 'Outcast'.

then, it was time for the Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen to take to the stage in readyness to present the winners.

Runner Up in the Junior categorie were 2 dancers, Katie Billington & Grace Calvey from Wicked Dynamic Youth while the winner was Jessica Gaul from Blackburn YMCA.

Runner Up in the Senior section with his humorous poem was Adam Woolley from Bolton Lads & Girls Club.
The winner of the senior section, singing a not to be expected but excellent aria was Hannah Jowle from Blackpool Boys & Girls Club.

What a fantastic 'club family' event with a great atmosphere and a fine showcase of our association and clubs work with young people

So if you were busy on the night, twitting, watchin TV or maybe playing a Wii game, then you missed out on a memorable evening.

We wonder who will look back with fond memories of Thursday 17 November 2011......we think we know.
