Event : Lancaster NCS group nominated for National Award

Against tough national competition, some of Lancaster’s NCS young volunteers have been recognised for their hard work and dedication over the summer.

The programme ran over the summer with a challenging two week residential and a Social Action project.

Lancashire Boys & Girls Clubs NCS group were nominated for their Social Action Project Born Asleep at the 'Mix It Up' Catch-22 NCS awards which took place in London last week.

Dannielle Stocker and Ambassador Ben Booth, were up for the 'Best Social Action’ award for their ‘born asleep’ website.The website raises awareness and highlights the issue of young parents who have experienced stillbirth.

The awards were hosted by BBC Radio One DJ, Reggie Yates. NCS patron HRH the Princess Royal was also present to praise and commend the nominees herself.
