Event : Celebrate 80 Success!

On Wednesday 19th November over 260 people joined us for a fantastic evening of awards and talent at our special 'Celebrate 80' anniversary event at Thwaites Empire Theatre in Blackburn.

The evening was hosted by Matty Robinson and Rob Gray, two young volunteers from Brunshaw Youth Action Group and kicked off with a wonderful 80th Anniversary sketch by 8 young people from Tommy's Fleetwood CYP.

Following this, our President and the Chief Constable of Lancashire, Mr Steve Finnigan presented awards to some of the young people of Lancashire who have achieved great things over the past year. Included in these awards were our Junior and Senior Members of the Year and the ever anticipated Participation Award...

Third on stage was Paige Brown from Clitheroe Youth Forum who performed her own dance routine in her hand made costume! Last but not least in the junior section came Willow Whelan from Blackburn Youth Zone, who played the guitar and sang a great rendition of Radioactive by Imagine Dragons.

After all this excitement we took a break and gave the audience a chance to grab a drink and have a go in our 80th Birthday photobooth!

Back to it... this time Mr Finnigan presented those all important volunteer awards, to both young and older volunteers. This section included a new award for Young Volunteer of the Year and the continuing Adult Volunteer of the Year.
