News : More Train2Sustain First Aid Success

Another batch of club workers and volunteers from Bolton Lads & Girls Club and Elswick Youth Club were the latest to benefit from the National Lottery funded Train2Sustain project through gaining their Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work. The course was delivered by Affiniti Pro Training at Bolton Lads & Girls Clubs' Hacken Lane facility and saw learners dealing with situations concerning people 8 years and over covering areas such as the recovery position, shock, choking, bleeding, CPR and using a defibrillator. The course is practical based with lots of opportunities to input to the course and engage and learn with fellow learners using a wide range of resources and scenarios. 

Well done to everyone who took part and completed their certificate.

Train to Sustain' is a project that the aims to strengthen voluntary youth organizations across Lancashire by providing training opportunities, support and networking events to voluntary youth organisations to aid long term sustainability.

It will be provide staff training, accredited training for volunteers and young leaders as well as designing a games on a shoestring resource that the clubs to be utilised within clubs. 

All training opportunities will be fully inclusive and open to all clubs to book places on. Bookings will also be welcomed from 'outside' voluntary youth organisations in order to strengthen the voluntary youth sector as a whole.
