LABGC member organisations are at the heart of our work. It is our firm view that the work of LABGC is becoming increasingly more important in light of the recent reduction in financial support of young people’s services and the current challenges facing young people and the voluntary services across Lancashire that are there to support them.

To best address these challenges, we know it is vital that we work collaboratively with our members and provide a membership package that best suits their needs; there have been many successes and achievements over the recent 12 months which is a great testament to the on-going commitment of the association staff, club leaders, staff and volunteers who have shown dedication and resilience in continuing to provide good quality services to young people.

We are proud of our solid network of members who all have a shared commitment to ensuring that together we meet the needs of the young people we work with and enable them to access opportunities and new experiences that support their personal and social development so they may grow into caring and responsible citizens.

LABGC MEMBERSHIP PACKAGES

LABGC Membership is split into 4 sections to accommodate the needs of all the organisations we work with. But this year we have slightly amended our offer to make it more attractive and affordable to clubs.

Membership is open to youth organisation working with at least 10 young people in regular membership within the age range of 8-21 years, in any part of Lancashire including ‘palatine areas’ such as Bury, Bolton, Wigan, St. Helens, Blackburn with Darwen and Blackpool.

PLEASE NOTE: Large organisations providing multiple services (especially from different venues) e.g. universal evening provision plus daytime provision for specific groups, may require multiple memberships. All our activities can be accessed by external organisations and private groups e.g. Fete Days, parties, corporate groups, etc. for prices please get in touch.

VOLUNTEER FOR US

We have a host of opportunities for you to get involved with the Association, whether that is as a paid employee, sessional worker, volunteer, trustee, student/work placement.

As with most voluntary sector organisations we rely on volunteers to keep the association operating efficiently and effectively.

We welcome support from businesses in lots of other ways, whether donations of equipment, funds, prizes, and we are happy to come and discuss opportunities with you and support you in getting them up and running. Here are some more ideas about how you could support us.

Becoming a Patron of our Charity shows you are making a regular contribution to supporting the work of our charity in providing Personal Social Development Opportunities for disadvantaged young people.

It demonstrates your commitment to making a difference in deprived communities by improving the outcomes of young people facing complex social issues and multiple barriers to social mobility.

It highlights you and or your business as one who understands the issues facing young people and cares about their positive life chances.

We have Patrons who support us with donations each year to donations each month.

RESOURCES / EQUIPMENT

• Are you moving office, replacing equipment, have surplus stock, we can often find use of the items you no longer need. Don’t sell the items on for a pittance, donate them to a charity.

TIME / PROFESSIONAL EXPERTISE

• Your time is extremely precious and your skills, knowledge, contacts, expertise and influence could be extremely valuable to our charity. Have a look at our CSR or Help You Help Us sections above for some ideas and get in touch.

FUNDING

Of course being a Charity we are extremely grateful for all donations especially funding.

Your funding donations enable us to provide

• Positive activities that complement young people’s personal social development
• Accredited opportunities that recognise and promote young people’s achievement
• Leadership training to support young people’s progress to becoming volunteer leaders in their clubs and projects
• Peer leadership to enable young people to provide information and support other young people
• Training and awareness raising workshops for youth work staff and volunteers
• Access to expensive resources individual clubs could not afford on their own

The hourly rates, with effect from September 2025. 

One Off Bookings: £18 per hour (min 2hrs). £16 per hour after 2 hrs. Full Day £80

Regular Bookings: £16 per hour (first 2 hrs). £15 per hour after 2 hrs. Full Day £70

Price above includes 15 minutes before and after booking for setting out, preparation and clearing up. Additional time will be charged accordingly.
